Ukie brings Indie Game: The Movie to Develop in Brighton

Ukie will present, in association with the Develop Conference, a screening of Indie Game: The Movie at Develop in Brighton.

The screening will take place at 8.45pm on the 10th July at the Odeon Brighton, a 2 minute walk from the Hilton Brighton Metropole where Develop in Brighton is taking place. Doors will open at 8.15pm with drinks available before the screening and a mixer/networking event after the film.

Indie Game: The Movie, directed by Lisanne Pajot and James Swirsky, looks at the underdogs of the video game industry, indie game developers, who sacrifice money, health and sanity to realise their lifelong dreams of sharing their creative visions with the world. Following the making of the games SUPER MEAT BOY, FEZ and BRAID, this Sundance award-winning film captures the tension and drama by focusing on these developers' vulnerability and obsessive quest to express themselves through a 21st-century art form.

Ukie CEO Dr Jo Twist said: "Indie Game: The Movie is a fantastic film, showcasing the trials and tribulations of independent developers and we are delighted to be providing a free screening at Develop in Brighton. The conference continues to be a key date in the video games events calendar and we are pleased to be working with the Develop Conference to bring this screening to the attendees.”

Tandem Events Managing Director Andy Lane said: "We're delighted to add this screening to the After Hours programme of events that are taking place at Develop this year. Along with over 100 sessions from top quality speakers, numerous networking opportunities and the Indie Dev Day and Showcase, it's a perfect addition to the conference."

Tickets to the screening are free, when using the code indiefree, but strictly limited and can be booked here http://ukiedevelopindie.eventbrite.com/. To get a free pass to see Indie Game, people will be required to have a Develop Conference pass that they will need to show on site.
